Travel Kosova (travelkosova.com) is an independent digital travel publication created to introduce international travelers, cultural historians, and pilgrims to the extraordinary medieval and Orthodox heritage of Kosovo.

Our core purpose is to bridge the gap between academic art history and practical, on-the-ground travel planning. We believe that understanding the theological, dynastic, and human stories behind each monastery, town, and mountain valley transforms sightseeing into a profound cultural encounter.

Editorial Standards & Verification

• Scholarly Attribution: Historical texts distinguish documented archaeological and archival facts from ecclesiastical tradition and later epic memory. Complex topics are reviewed against peer-reviewed publications from SANU, UNESCO, and university heritage departments.
• Dual Naming Convention: In our texts on Serbian heritage, we use recognizable historical Serbian and English terminology. At the first mention of any town, we provide the local administrative variants useful for travel (e.g. Peć / Peja and Priština / Prishtina), and our search engine indexes both forms.
• Field-Verified Logistics: Road conditions, border crossing rules, opening hours, and checkpoint requirements are verified directly with site custodians and regional transport authorities.
• Independence: We are an independent editorial project. We do not claim official status as a government tourism agency or ecclesiastical chancellery without explicit authorization.

We maintain a strict standard for visual documentary integrity: documentary photos of monasteries, frescoes, and church interiors reflect genuine, licensed, on-site photography. AI-generated imagery is never presented as authentic documentary evidence of medieval sacred art.
